Jaclyn Gates, J.D, TEP
Jaclyn Gates is an associate in the Wills & Estate Law Group at Ross & McBride. With a focus on detail-oriented service and personalized solutions, she uses clear communication and sound strategies to guide clients through a wide range of estate planning and administration services.
Known for her thoughtful and measured approach, Jaclyn’s attention to detail is evident in every client interaction. Her process begins with a thorough review of client information, followed by personalized consultations to clarify instructions and outline next steps. She frequently collaborates with accountants, financial advisors, and business counsel to create coordinated, well-rounded estate plans.
Jaclyn is also well aware of the deeply personal nature of estate and trust matters, and she is comfortable overseeing sensitive decisions about family, finances, and long-term legacies. Whether drafting tailored wills, advising executors, or addressing planning needs, she is committed to building strong connections with her clients while providing thoughtful, practical guidance.
Jaclyn holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, which distinguishes qualified practitioners from non-specialists.
Outside the office, Jaclyn is an member of the Hamilton Law Association’s Estates Subcommittee, where she participates in discussions on legal developments and best practices in estate administration. She regularly engages in continuing legal education specific to estates and trusts, ensuring her knowledge remains current and her services align with the latest legal standards.
Jaclyn obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2018. Prior to law school, Jaclyn earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Studies with a Minor in Global Development from Queen’s University and Sciences Po Paris.
Originally from a small town near London, Ontario, Jaclyn is now a proud Hamiltonian. She enjoys exploring the city’s vibrant food and drink scene, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
