Josie has over 20 years of experience in the steel Industry where she works for ArcelorMittal Dofasco, part of multinational producer ArcelorMittal, the second largest steel producer in the world with a presence in 60 countries and a leader in all major global carbon steel markets, including automotive, construction, household appliances and packaging. Early in her steel career she was a business unit & capital accountant where she was part of a history making takeover. In 2011 she moved to strategic marketing and communications, an area of lifelong interest. Recently she joined the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team on special assignment.
She is accredited with the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and in 2019 joined the CPRS Board of Directors in Hamilton as Co-Chair of Business Development. This year she became the Treasurer of the Board.
Josie is a speaker with the CPRS Speakers Bureau and an academic journal author. She has presented at several International Public Relations Conferences with McMaster University such as; The Institute of Public Relations Bridge Conference in Washington, the 28th BledCom Symposium in Slovenia, and the CCI Corporate Communication International Conference in Milan, Italy.
Josie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the DeGroote School of Business and in 2017 completed a Master of Communication Management degree from McMaster University & Syracuse University. She remains closely tied to the McMaster University Graduate Program as a dedicated and passionate Instructor of the Financial Management courses and is an instructor of Business Communications at York University.
