Sabrina Samuel (she/her) is a published poet and woman in recovery from addiction, bipolar disorder, grief and loss. Her first poetry chapbook, She Was, raised over $1500 for the Central Alberta Sexual Assault Support Centre (CASASC). The “Period Poet Laureate of Red Deer” is now visiting bathrooms with free tampons and pads, reciting poetry for her Soroptomist Club. She is working on memoir and was one of thirty Canadians chosen for BIPOC Writers Connect to achieve that end. Session: Poems on the Spot during the Noon Cocktail Party
Sit with Aunty Sabby the poet
to self reflect
and get into gratitude
or if you’d rather,
she can craft a poem
about your crappy attitude
whatever your thought
give it to Aunty
for a poem on the spot.
